Susanna con sua nonna in cucina, tra i sapori della tradizione locale a Sasso Pisano

Susi – Our Story

My name is Susanna, and I grew up here, surrounded by the scents of traditional Tuscan cuisine. Cooking has always been a part of me, thanks to an extraordinary grandmother who passed on her passion, love for handmade creations, and an invaluable wealth of experience that I draw from every day.

Today, with a young and enthusiastic team, I continue this tradition at Chalet il Madonnino, offering a culinary experience that tells the story and authentic flavors of this special corner of Tuscany.

Cuisine – Tradition and Innovation

The cuisine at Chalet il Madonnino celebrates the local products: game, mushrooms, truffles, chestnuts, olive oil, honey, and local cheeses, which come together in traditional recipes and new creations, striking a balance between tradition and innovation, respecting the seasons.

The spacious outdoor barbecue is the heart of our grilled offerings, featuring the finest quality meats carefully selected.

Our wine list accompanies each dish with a selection of Tuscan and national labels, perfect for enhancing every flavor.

The Territory – A Unique Corner of Tuscany

We are located in an enchanting chestnut forest with a view of the medieval fortress of Sasso Pisano, just a few steps from the bathing pond, surrounded by hot springs, ancient washhouses, and Etrusco-Roman archaeological sites.

We are in the heart of the geothermal area!

The heat rising from the earth’s core has created a unique landscape, with geysers, bubbling pools, and steam vents emerging from the rock, creating a magical atmosphere.

For nature and adventure lovers, trekking trails lead to the nearby Biancane Nature Reserve in Monterotondo Marittimo, a unique area for its geothermal formations.

Our Structure

Chalet il Madonnino, recently rebuilt, with its wooden structure, blends harmoniously into the chestnut forest that overlooks the village of Sasso Pisano.

The enclosed veranda, reserved for the winter months, opens up to a large outdoor area with tables and shaded spaces, which in the summer host parties, events, and live music evenings.
